The Right 2 Read Foundation (R2R) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides resources and tools to at-risk students who are combating the ills of illiteracy. The Right 2 Read Foundation utilizes the benefits of storytelling and technology to aid children in the development of reading comprehension, emotional management, and self expression. R2R believes that these three developmental processes are fundamental to the maturation and intellectual growth of all children regardless of their socio-economic circumstances.

our PHILOSOPHY

The Right 2 Read Foundation believes that all children, no matter who they are or where they come from, are entitled to the fundamental “right to read” and deserve unfettered and unlimited access to any and all resources that enable them read and comprehend at or above accepted levels.

The Right 2 Read Foundation began as a grass-roots program in 2008. Its focus is on providing educational support and resources to students of lower socioeconomic means.

Initially focusing on the students enrolled at Rainbow Dreams Academy, a public charter school for at-risk students in Las Vegas Nevada, The Right 2 Read Foundation sponsors and organizes various educational projects and events such as: “Creative Writing Talent Contest“, “Read-a-thon“, and “Dr. Seuss Week“, which collectively encourages students to discover the fun in reading.

In 2016, the Right 2 Read Foundation achieved 501(c)(3) foundation status and underwent a re-engineering of its mission and core values, as well as its programs and services.
